The old yellow/green stuff, or some proprietary Subaru flavor?
Note: this is not a Subaru.

Sir. You have posted a 74 Pinto wagon. And Pinto wagon's are pretty much my bat signal. Well besides the actual bat signal.

I used Advanced Auto green flavor in my 2008, seemed fine.

I don’t fool around with my E J25 - it gets Subaru coolant to appease the headgasket gods..

What are you trying to tell me?

So old school ordinary antifreeze?

EJ25: Is the the engine code?
Good point about the headgasket gods...

Whatever won’t void the warranty, if any.

I always used P eak antifreeze. It says it’s compatible with everything. Subaru sells an antifreeze conditioner additive which is supposed to magic ally save your head gaskets but meh they still might fail no matter what you do with the older NA 2.5.

2007 should still be green. They
switched to a long-life blue coolant in mid 2008
.

You should use the Subaru magic antifreeze with the head gasket restorative properties as this is an age of cars that didn’t like head gaskets.

Yes - even after I had Subaru replace the HG, it was still filled with green coolant from the dealer . Change it often, and you can get some of the magic potion conditioner for a few bucks at the dealership.
The cooling systems are stout, they’ll be fine no matter what you use (and the HG is gonna go no matter what you use)

Also, great Subaru Reference site - www.cars101.com The URL is misleading, but its a guy in the Pacific NW that has a lot of great info on every subaru in the past 20-ish years I think.

It is the Subaru Long Life Green. They switched to the Super Long Life Blue coolant 2008/2009

Blue Subaru coolant. It helps prevent coolant leaks.

Didn’t look carefully enough - an ‘07, so no warranty. You are the captain of your own ship.
